Our society is evolving into a diverse Democracy that displays overt racism, xenophobia, misogynism, selfishness towards others, and violence.
Sinister politics expands and the goal is to change our government from a Democracy to a Dictatorship. After the 2020 election, laws were passed to overturn elections if “Mega” Republicans didn’t win. In other words, some votes were considered fraudulent and should not count. This excuse establishes “minority rule” where few voters determine our leaders.
“Mega” elected leaders will create an alternative reality–where facts are fake.
Stop the Steal became the rallying cry for hate groups, Q-Anon, and Trump followers. Attendees at the Stop the Steal rally were told that the election was rigged. In retaliation, on January 6, 2021, our symbol of Democracy—the US Capitol was defaced with feces and broken-in.
Some Republicans treated the capital insurrection like it never happened. They referred to the insurrectionists as patriots although they broke into the building and defaced it with urine and feces. They stole the Speakers laptop; hunted and chanted ‘were gonna kill Mike Pence’ [vice president].
The lie about the Coronavirus lead to preventable deaths. Facebook traffic the lie “the virus is like the Flu,” no need to put on a mask, social distance, or take a vaccine shot.
Trump supporters start fights or disrupt school meetings that vote to have mask mandates. Healthcare workers are threatened or beaten up because they promote the use of vaccine injections.
Due to overt hatred and alternative reality, an incarcerated person must be prepared mentally for an evolving world. According to NRRC [National Reentry Resource Center] Facts & Trends (2015), 95% of convicts return to society; therefore, rehabilitation programs must be offered to pre-released offenders 3-months before their release date.
Holistic Rehabilitation—Read for Life program reforms the mind of the pre-released offender through reflection. Attitude rehabilitation is the head of reform; wrap-around services are its body.
The Read for Life program takes six weeks to complete. It is self-paced and requires an Internet connection. The program is located at www.rehabilitationreform.org
